 Q: What are the special annual leave regulations for foreign caregivers and domestic helpers? A: According to the provisions of the labor contract signed between the employer and the foreign worker, the employer shall give seven days of special leave every year after the foreign caregiver and helper have served for one year, and the salary shall be paid during the special leave. Generally speaking, if foreign caregivers and domestic helpers should take special leave but fail to take it, they will be compensated with an overtime pay of $667 per day (the old contract of $17,000 is $567).
